Watching "Kimi ni Todoke" and watched "Puss n' Boots: The Last Wish'; "Pixar's Last Film" "Summer Tunnel, Urashima" and "Red Turtle"

My Server's cable to my house broke and fell to the ground and it took four days for them to get it repaired... So I watched these anime as well as logging and typing 10 full pages of Historical information for the area where I live...

But now I'm BACK!!!! BWAHAHAHAHASHAHA!!!!

The annual anime film festival was on this past week, so I was really busy seeing what they had! The new releases I watched were: Summer Ghost (only 40 minutes so a bit different from the feature length films), Lonely Castle in the Mirror (same director as Miss Hokusai and some others), The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store, Blue Giant, Komada: A Whisky Family and Phoenix (adaptation of the Tezuka manga). And in between I saw a much older film, Galaxy Express 999! Overall I think they had a great selection this year, and all of what I saw is definitely worth checking out if you have a chance!

By the way, husky - Tunner to Summer was actually one of the films at this festival last year! What did you think of it?

Did you get to see it?

I don't see things as 'great or poor art work' unless it is haha very poor, then I likely wouldn't even finish it.

In Summer Tunnel, like WotH, I cried... 'nuff said...

I just watched it again and cried again, not complaining! It has happy and sad parts and enjoyed it just as much as the first time, if not more so...

My biggest complaint was, in some instances, the sub titles were too fast to catch completely and in a very few times, I saw the flash of a subtitle, but it was gone before I could even make out a word!!!
and the movie didn't subtitle the cell phone messages, at least on this copy. I tried for 'secondary subs', but either it just didn't go or there weren't any put in... If you can still read the Japanese characters, you might enjoy it better... Regardless, I LIKED IT!!! The Story, the graphics, the connections... and I WILL WATCH IT AGAIN1, for sure..

Yeah, I saw it! Sorry to hear the subtitles weren't so great on the version you saw. I don't remember any issues with that, and I'm fairly sure the messages were translated. I mean, they're so important to the story!

'Importance' as I figured, but missed... I will try and find a better copy...

I remember "Miss Hokusai", so I'll be looking for "Lonely Castle" as well as the other titles you mentioned...

Just finished the 12 eps of "From Me to You" the live action series of the anime "Kimi ni Todoke"...

I enjoyed watching it.. Some of the characters, like 'Pin', came across with a slightly different characterization from what I remember from the anime...

I started last night and finished this evening...

Totally enjoyed it...

and YES, my eyes watered up a bit a time or three..

Was struck by the background scenery in Ep 11 at about the '11:00'.. Mountain skyline reminded me ot the skyline north of where I live...

(I know that this isn't anime, but it is based on an anime...)

Watched a, to me at least, rather oddball anime movie titled "Maboroshi".. Enjoyed it, yes, but it took a bit of figuring out... lol

Then watched an easier one, "A Whisker Away", typical girl/cat/boy story, lol

Watching Vinland Saga, and just finished watching Blue Eye Samurai (not sure if this is technically anime, but it is great animation!)

Watched "Child of Kamiari Month" and "Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop" last night... Both good imo

I have been somewhat burned out on local TV programs and spending more time looking through the Netflix channel offerings and just picking out whatever catches my eye, mostly movies now, but will get into the 'series, multiple episode" anime later on...

I often work on subtitles for Netflix trailers, so I could tell you were going through their library husky I can't say I've got around to watching any of the films myself, but recently I've been slowly getting through Pluto (also on Netflix) based on a manga by the same writer as Monster.

Also, Buta - is that the first or second season of Vinland Saga? I watched the first and really liked it, but I still need to see the second season.

Watched a silly, but colorful (colors, not words) film last night "Willoughby's"...

Watched a Studio Ponoc triology of shorts... "Modest Heros #1"... I saw a ghibli hint, but after the first tale, I didn't really care for the following two tales...

I recently started watching the new Urusei Yatsura anime. I never got around to the old one (partly because it's so long!) so I thought this would be an easier starting point. It's quite old-school but it's fun so far.

Just watched Urusei Yatsura's "Inaba the Dreammaker OVA1"... from 1987... Old style anime, but funny...
