Thanks guys, it's so nice to end university on such a high. ^^ Well, I'll be doing a master's from September so I guess it's not quite the end yet.

arren - Hopefully I'll be going to Durham. Leeds have offered me a place already but I'd prefer Durham, so I'm just waiting at the moment to hear back from them. I'll be studying translation.

Husky - I did Asia-Pacific Studies with Japanese. ^^

That's cool! I sometimes wonder if I should've gone on and studied translation, but since my degree took an extra year, I think it was time to leave academia for a while. I'm still interested in translation though.

Lowlight: typhoon problems again. It started yesterday but today was even worse.

Highlight: I got off from work early! Both yesterday and today there were no classes, but yesterday the early release I was hoping for never materialised. Actually, today I got out just in time to have lunch and get on the last train before they all got cancelled.

That was a stroke of luck at least... Catching the train, that is...

I never had to deal with any typhoons or earthquakes while I was in Japan, BUT, We had a nasty typhoon chasing our ship one time. We were only 245' long and 35' wide and it seemed that every time we changed course to steer away from the typhoon, the damn thing followed us like a magnet!!! When we were finally clear of it, I remember the chart up in the bridge, where I spent a lot of time steering (when I wasn't dealing with being seasick), had three great big loops on it with out past course changes.

We were heading North from Oolongapo, Philippines to Yokosuka, Japan...

HL: I got the green light from my specialist to go to Japan. So glad it's a chronic condition that can be easily monitored. My pred told me who will be able to help arrange me routine blood work there.

I got a random diagnosis during my health checkup and it came back with two conditions. Have to lose some pounds and change my diet or otherwise I'll have serious health issues in the future. Whoops. One condition I might have for the rest of my life since it developed during adulthood.

I am so torn...
I am Happy for you...
and I am sad for you... BUT!

You are strong...

And I feel that you WILL...
overcome your problems and succeed in your future...

Haha thank you! It's an autoimmune disorder and I will probably have complications with it later on, but right now it's not considered serious and I just need to keep an eye on it and any changes in my body. I'm glad it was nothing more serious. This whole ordeal almost prevented me from going.

Well now, where to start with these highlights?

I've got a place at Durham University! And so does a great friend of mine!

I've officially graduated as of the ceremony on Monday!

I've got my first translation work, a little job translating menus!

Not a bad week.
