Hehe it would be cool to know about spells . But even Kiki knows nothing except flying, let alone her black cat.
(btw it would be fun if Kiki did know about spells: she might curse the crows that troubled with her work, or command the broom to do the work by itself...)
quote: This time I need a downloadable HiQ version of Neko first wave poster, do you know an address...? I've searched Google and found nothing..
This is not exactly high-resolution, just a little bit better than your thumbnail image. But I cannot find anything better.
quote: Hmmm... if that so, why Yamada fails.... did the people already know from the first time that the CG will be minimalism..? I think Yamada is perfect and used the usual promotion..
I suppose promotion contributes in enhancing people's interest under the condition that the centre of the promotion itself is interesting to the public. Although there was nothing about CG mentioned in the Yamada first-wave poster, it still showed that the film would be completely different from anything from Ghibli in the past. CG or not, the style had to be minimalistic as it needed to follow the style of the comics. Some hard-core fans which love the Ghibli-brand detailed drawings and animation could feel disappointed. Others may deduced that the film would be dull based on the slice-of-life theme, and would rather wait for the video release instead of judging it in the theatres. Once the public formed such an impression, the film was doomed to failure. Even if the film itself was good, people were already disappointed by their own view and would not think it was worthy to spend money to see it in theatres.
What the posters (or most of the other promotional materials) show, significant or not, is only a tiny section of the film. So it can be said that they make people to form partial first impressions, and judge the films based on such views before seeing them by themselves. Should they find the content interesting and forms a positive impression, the public interest can be aroused. By the time the movie is released, even if the movie itself is unsatisfactory, their views are still overridden by the good first impressions (like many Hollywood films, which shows all the fancy stuff in the trailers but have no depth in content). But for Yamada, it seems to be a complete opposite. It is a fact of life that first impressions are most lasting.
quote: Yes, I registering first.. but it said that the name and e-mail already registered.... (strange, huh?).. then I try to login with the user name that I used here (Neko Danshaku =^^ .. and try my password that I used here.... suddenly I logged in! I even commented a discussion there... my user name here and there are the same..
Ummm... the only logical explanation that I can come up with (based on the fact that your registration date is shown to be 29 April) is that you double-clicked the "submit" button after you had completed the registration form. Your user info was sent and added to the database on the first-click. By the second-click, there was already such an account existed in the database, so an error message returned, reporting the user info was already registered. As the account was created by your own info, of course you can login without any trouble.
quote: PS:I don't heard anything from nanashi lately... where is he..?
I fear that Nanashi might be paying a visit to the house of Satsuki and Mei in the Aichi Expo and suddenly got squashed by a little girl...
Or might be get kidnapped by Kamajii in Yuya and is forced to labour for him...
After all Nanashi looks so much like a susuwatari.
Talking about Totoro, there is an interesting poster in this site that I have never seen elsewhere. You can click on the link and see the details both on the front and at the back.

P.S. one of the two major local TV channels will show Totoro at 8.30 pm tomorrow, and Kiki on Sunday. ![](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
