  Cardcaptor Sakura

Has anyone seen Cardcaptor Sakura (or Card Captors)? If you have what do you think about it? If you've seen both (CCS is the uncut Japanese version, CC is the American version) how do think the two compare? Has anyone noticed that the second movie doesn't even preserve the orignal English voice cast, but instead uses voices even higher than the Japanese version? Lastly, my friends and I are having a debate. My friends have declared me a pedophile merely becuase I like CCS and I happen to be a seventeen year old male. Please help me settle this debate.

Therefore im a pedo cuz i like spirited away and Kiki's delivery service. And everyone who watches pkmn is also a pedo cuz Misty is underaged too.

Please.

IMO the japanese version's seiyuu r too high-pitched for my liking. The dub is better. I only watched a small part of the movie in japanese tho (hadnt realized it was aired dual-sound), so i cant really comment. Everything else, i wtched the dub.

  Japanese v. Dubbed

I agree that sometimes the original voice cast usually seems too high. Unfortunately, sometimes anime gets edited when translated. Like CCS for example, when it became CC, it lost a bout half the the episodes, and even the episodes that remained were still edited. So CCS is better in Japanese because you get the whole story, rather than some mutilated commcerical scheme of the WB.

Haven't seen but Card Captors (the dub), but I _really_ like Card Captor Sakura (I don't like to frivolously throw around the term "love"). It's one of my favorite anime series. I enjoy everything about it-- the fantastic artwork, the music, etc etc-- actually, I like a lot of Clamp stuff. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the odd way guys are drawn. Could be because I'm a very non-effeminate, straight 19 year old male who enjoys death metal and the like.

Don't worry dude, you probably aren't a pedophile (hah!), but you could be at higher risk, so watch yourself :) I think of this attraction as more of an affinity toward cuteness and innocence (as opposed to the more commonly coveted quality of hotness) rather than being attracted to kids. There are a lot of _women_ out there that have these qualities so there is certainly no problem with having an affinity toward a less common aesthetic or standard of beauty (physical & non-physical).

I believe this because My Neighbor Totoro touches me in the same way (actually, much more so) that CCS does, yet Totoro has no super-kawaii girls.

Repost to make a different stand.

The original is better, simply because i found out quite a while back that the dub version is HEAVILY butchered and the dialogue HEAVILY altered.

But ey, what do u expect? The series has gay, lesbian and yes, underaged love (Mr Terada is actually engaged to Rika).

I have only seen the dubbed version which I enjoy very much, but would be interested to see it in the original Japanese. The manga is also fantastic.
