Posted by Saddletank on 09.16.2014, 10:18 AM: Ah, okay. I seem to have been misunderstanding this for years. For example I have a pdf copy of Haruhi Suzumiya and that appears to have been a traditional paper-and-cover book. I understand the Monogatari series is the same.

Posted by arren18 on 09.16.2014, 04:40 PM: Saddles, I think you've mixed it up with light novel. Haruhi and Monogatari are examples of light novels. Visual novels are, as explained, a type of computer game with limited gameplay and a focus on telling a set story.

Posted by FlareNetworkC on 09.22.2014, 07:33 PM: Haven't seen Rebellion, loved the series. Is Rebellion at least semi-tolerable?
Posted by arren18 on 09.22.2014, 08:01 PM: Going to have to thoroughly disagree with Roar and say it's great. It's not quite on a par with the series which is one of my favourites, but I honestly thought they did a fantastic job of making a sequel that was true to the feel of the original. However, I get the impression it's a bit of a love-it-or-hate-it deal.
Posted by Saddletank on 09.23.2014, 02:21 PM: I hear about this series a lot, perhaps I should watch it - what comprises the full Madoka Magica "story"?
Posted by arren18 on 09.23.2014, 04:13 PM: The original series is twelve episodes long. I don't know how much you already know about it, so I'll avoid giving too much away and just say that it's a twist on the magical girl genre.
Posted by Roarkiller on 09.24.2014, 10:27 AM: The build up to the series ending was spectacular in itself, so much so that it made Rebellion look like a bad attempt at a sequel.
