Did Moro intend to simply bite off Eboshi's arm?

I always wondered in that scene was Moro trying to kill Lady Eboshi but missed and only ended up severing her arm instead or did Moro intended to bite off Eboshi's arm but not kill her?

I would say that, judging by San's attempt to kill Eboshi, that it was Moro's intent to kill her. I will have to re-watch the movie as I don't recall that particular scene, but that's ok as I'm the "old guy"...

lol

I argue it's a little hard to aim when you have no body.

At least she stopped while she was a head.

Okay I'm done.

I think she must have intended to kill. Why would her aim simply be just to maim Lady Eboshi?

"Cut off a wolf's head and it still has the power to bite"

From what I saw in the movie, plus the re-occurring dialogue of Moro saying she was going to kill Lady Eboshi the chance she could. Makes me believe she did intend to kill her, though was only able to bite her arm off.

I would agree that she wanted to kill her; earlier in the film Moro said that she planned to 'bite her head off'. I think Lady Eboshi's survival was important in the plot in terms of redemption and peace at the end.

How was Moro's head moving without a body?

I just recently watched Princess Mononoke again and right after Eboshi gets her arm bitten off San want to kill her but Ashitaka stop her saying "Your mother has already avenged the wolf tribe" so maybe it was Moro's intent to maim Eboshi instead of killing her.

Thoughts?
