Jupiter, Mercury and Venus in the morning sky

This morning Jupiter (lowest on the horizon) then Mercury and Venus were easily visible on the horizon just before dawn. An awe-inspiring sight for this amateur astronomer. Unbelievably clear skies -- it's one of the things I love about living in the Sonoran Desert.

Any other astronomers here?

Have you seen the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn last December 21?

When we were still married, for a few summer/fall nights, my wife and I laid out on our front lawn to identify a large number of Constellations.. Some where between 25-35 different ones... We used a Star Wheel...

Since then, not so much...

Wouldn't be so bold as to call myself an astronomer but we love a good dark sky. Also love chasing auroras.
