  Ocean Waves

Another one I finally got a chance to watch! I think there are a lot of people in the same boat as me in this case, though.

Anyway, I enjoyed watching it. I appreciated that it wasn't a straightforward and predictable romance. But one thing that counts against it a little is that the other Ghiblis most similar to it are very good, so it feels a bit like a cheaper alternative to those...

Like "Whisper of the Heart". when watching "Ocean Waves", when it gets towards the end of the movie (and I'm sure that I don't have to say just where to anyone who has seen these movies) the waterworks start in my eyes. This is one of the reasons that my kids say that I have 'soggy eyeballs', lol

I really liked their story choice for both woth and ocean waves.

I would say these are feel good movies.

Real life is very different imho. but again i dont have experience in romance

Was there anything that inspired you to revisit it?

You mentioning it at the top pf this page... I had forgotten about it until a couple of days ago when I was talking about Ghibli films to my home nurse and recommended some of them to her. This one was younger than the others and not familiar with them...

That reminded me that I was going to watch OW again, and so I did...
