  Ghibli OSTs

I saw an advert yesterday for various Ghibli official soundtracks being released here (UK) on vinyl. I thought that sounded nice and took a look, but they were SO EXPENSIVE. So I doubt I'll be interested in those any time soon...

But it made me wonder, does anybody here have any of the soundtracks, on vinyl or other formats?

I haven't bought any music in years, honestly, I just stream these days. Nearly everything's on Spotify or YouTube. I guess they're nice collector's items, but not worth the price for me.

I don't buy music nearly as much as I used to, but sometimes I still do, especially for certain artists or if it's something fun I happen to find. In Japan I bought quite a few used CDs because it's less likely I can just find their music otherwise, and it was just nice to have it with the original art and stuff.

Something like this really would be just for the novelty though!

Haven't bought any for years already. I also would love that vinyl, how much does it cost? I don't know why vinyls are expensive now

The ones I saw were from 55 to 70 pounds. I don't know where you are, but that's equivalent to about 75+ US dollars.

The expense can be attributed to two possible factors... one is the rarity of the vinyls and two, the expense of cutting new ones...
There was a business about a mile from me that manufactured the metal 'masters' that vinyls were cast (for lack of a better word) from, very high precision work... Unfortunately, the business burnt down about 18 months ago... No signs were ever on the building and the only reason I knew about them was because I sometimes worked security on the surrounding property... I got to see inside once... They didn't want outsiders to know about what they did there... I gathered from what was said that it had something to do with the metallurgy and equipment involved...

I thought at first that it might have has=d something to do with 'pirating', but knowing my security boss, he was a friend as well as an occasional boss and he would not have had any connection with anything illegal, besides being a police officer himself... I realize that alone doesn't necessarily mean anything, but you had to know the man... As I have for almost 40 years...
