This matchup has become a bit of a Ghibli Cup tradition by now. Reigning champion Whisper of the Heart (ranked #1) and Spirited Away (ranked #2) contested both of the first two finals, and they met again in the semi finals last year. In those polls, Whisper has won twice and Spirited Away has won once, but this year, both have been doing well so far.
