Only Yesterday (currently ranked #6) and The Tale of Princess Kaguya (currently ranked #10) haven't gone head-to-head before, but they did meet in the group stage in 2020 and 2023, with each one coming out ahead once. Only Yesterday reached the semi finals for the first time last year, but Princess Kaguya has never got that far yet.

This one was tough, cause they're both my favorites, but Kaguya is a transcendental piece of work, so I think it deserves more praise

It will face Whisper of the Heart in the semi finals beginning this Friday!
