Yeah, but now he is thinking of agreeing to the new treaty they have come up with although this new treaty doesn't benefit the UK what so ever . He needs to stick up for us more!!! Those faceless bureaucrats we call the EU will walk all over us if he doesn't!!! LOL
Love it how it has gone from Ghibli to England and Southend to British Politics!!!

I really do despise the Tories.
I'm also puzzled by bad feeling towards the EU. What precisely would be so terrible about a united Europe? If it were left to me we'd have joined the euro years ago.
Britain just needs to swallow the fact that it's not important anymore. We may have ruled half the world once but we're no longer in a position to throw our weight around - we don't have any.

Ahh British politics. I'm not a big fan of the Tories either. From what I can gather Cameron refused to agree to the Treaty because the UK would not receive enough special treatment according to it. Not being a part of the attempt to solve the euro crisis and damaging relationships with countries the UK is dependent upon fails to me to seem like an intelligent move. We aren't asserting out power by removing ourselves from efforts to help the eurozone, we're reducing it.
I have to agree with you on one point though Wikikid. Clegg is most definitely an idiot.

Wouldn't it be indirectly beneficial for Britain to get fully behind the E.U? im not a big fan of the idea of a united Europe to be honest, mainly because small country's would get shafted at every occasion, but right now the entire continent is shoulder deep in debt so shouldn't it be a unified effort to get out of it?
Mind you, i feel Germany seem to have just been doing what's best for themselves over the past decade or so and i get the feeling any treaty would be more for their benefit than any other country....

I disagree with you Nausicca, but I sort of agree with you Captain, but anyway I could talk about this till the cows come home so I am gonna stop talking about it, I would advise others to do so aswell, The subject of British Politics is like a black whole you get sucked in and you can't get out of it. LOL!!!

Come on wiki give your opinion! A forum without debate is just a glorified bulletin board

Ah, but this is the general discussions board.
Incidentally, not everything you write is lol-worthy, and one exclamation mark will usually suffice.

I'd like to visit Canada, but in the case that all expenses were paid for me, I'd go somewhere more elaborate such as Japan (of course) or Italy.

Yes, this IS a general discussion, but that is NOT this threads topic, is it....
I agree with wikikid,
If you want to start a discussion then open a thread on the subject.
Thanks husky!!! To be fair I didn't mean to start anything like that, I was just pointing it out then it got out of hand from other posts. Lol!!!!

Aha, this always comes up I still maintain that is unhealthy to restrict topics to exactly what they originally began as. If it starts off as a simple question but then mutates into debates about something completely unrelated I don't see the harm in continuing it in the thread that features the progress of the debate/discussion. Pretty much everyone had posted their answer to the original question anyway. It's not as if anybody is arguing in a negative or rude manner, so I don't think it's right to just say 'Well, it wasn't the original point of the thread so you can't talk about it in this one.'
I understand where you're coming from by saying so Wiki and Husky but I just feel personally you cut off a lot of potentially interesting discussions in that way

What NC said.
I honestly don't see the problem with diverging from the original topic (which doesn't really call for a huge discussion and will end up dead) as long as we are not spamming.
And that aside, it's not your job to moderate threads. If you don't want to participate for whatever reason, that's fine. But to tell/advise others what they should talk about is not really necessary. We have a moderator xP And I very much doubt Roar would have a problem with a thread going off on a tangent.

To be fair I was just trying to get it back on topic, I didn't know there was such a lenient view on diverging. So I didn't mean to cut anyone off. Considering what I said though was not advice on what to talk about but just questioning, 'shouldn't we be talking about ghibli stuff'.
