A Vietnam friend emailed me a list of song covers from the Vietnam Era, the top 100 from 1966, '67, '68, '69, '70 and '71. I've been looking through them and playing and singing along with them and I'm not even through '66...
Some make me happy and some sad , but a warm feeling all the same.
Here are some of the ones that I've been listening.
"Wild Thing"-Troggs;
California Dreamin'- the Mamma's and the Pappa's;
"Good Vibrations"- The Beach Boys;
"Winchester Cathedral"- The New Vaudeville Band;
"Born a Woman"-Sandy Posey...
I know tha tmost of you weren't even close to being born yet, but this is the kind of music I grew into an adult with in the late 1960's...

I LOVE the Beach Boys, Husky! My grandfather introduced them to me. He also introduced me to ABBA, which became my first concert.

way to go Flare...
For some reason, Abba seems to have been given a bad rap and used as an example of something less that what they actually are, a great group. All I know is that I like their sound...

The best track Abba did was Arrival. It's almost trance music and quite unlike their usual songs.

Lord of the Rings Soundtrack- One Ring to Rule Them All
Very soothing, until about two minutes in when it turns epic. I really like it, very earthy and natural.

In a surprise twist, a Ghibli mix on 8tracks. So relaxing!

hahaha, 8tracks is a surprise... Where'd you find a player?
I had a ton of 8track tapes and gave them all to a neighbor... Had a wide variety of music on them, no Ghibli though, as far as I remember...
Listening to one of my 'Celtic Woman' discs at the moment... ""Believe"
"Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair" and "A Parting Glass"...
