Watched "Family Switch" last night... sort of a variation of "Freaky Friday" thing... An OK movie... I was just looking for something light to watch late at night...

Watched "Megan Leavey" today... IMO, A very good movie about a troubled girl that joins the Marine Corps and becomes a dog handler... I won't say anything more about the movie, but suffice to say that I cried real tears, not just watering eyeballs. I really enjoyed the movie...

Tried to watch Guillermo del Toro's "Pinocchio" last night and got to the part where the wood puppet was just about to start school and I HAD to shut it off... I just couldn't stand watching it any longer... Thinking back, I can't really say WHAT it was that was making it distasteful to me, but I couldn't watch it any longer...

Just finished watching "True Spirit" about 16 yr old Australian, Jessica Watson, who sailed around the World solo in 2010 leaving Sydney, Australia and returning to the same port of Sydney in 210 days BY HER SELF!!! I loved the scenery and realism...

A true story that I recommend to everyone, young people especially!

Watched "Shrek: Forever After" and enjoyed it as much as the other 'Shrek's' I've seen...

Watched "Moxie" last night... a live-action film about a high school girl dealing with problems at school... Held my attention throughout... some sadness, some humor, some angst... I liked it...

Watched "Tall Girl" last night, about, guess what?, the tallest girl in her school. (Just the opposite of what I dealt with in school, being quite short, lol...)

It was alright, but I don't really have an interest in watching "Tall Girl, 2"...

Watched three movies last night... "Confession of an Invisible Girl" was about a high school girl's move to a new school and her problems with fitting in...

Next was "Damsel", About a Princess bride's encounter with a fire-breathing dragon... (and NO.. it wasn't her new husband lol)...

The best one was "Too Young a Hero", a story about a boy who enlisted in the Navy shortly after the Pearl Harbor attack... How he enlisted, his time in service aboard a Navy warship.. Had some parts hard to watch.. This was based on a true story that actually happened... The boy was only 12... His name was Calvin Graham...

Edit: added sailor's name...

Watched "The Wish Dragon"... After starting the movie, I realized that I'd seen it before, but continued watching and totally enjoyed it...

It was kinda like three stories in one.

Watched "Flavors of Love" last night, movie was a little over an hour long and comprised of shorter, titles, vignette's centered around a noodle shop through the years and its affect on the people around it..

(I know that it wasn't as tasty, but I had to go and fix a bowl of 3min ramen...)

Atlas. JLo in a sci-fi setting was odd to reconcile but an otherwise entertaining movie. The AI conversation is everywhere these days!

There's this free online Japanese film festival happening for a couple of weeks: https://jff.jpf.go.jp/watch/jffonline2024/

So last night I started with one called Single 8, about some high school kids in the 70s deciding to make a cheesy sci-fi movie. It was a lot of fun, especially the parts where they work on the various special effects!

Yesterday I went to see Furiosa, the prequel to the last Mad Max film. I highly recommend it if that's something you're into! (though I appreciate not everyone will be)

I watched a few more Japanese films! Kiba: The Fangs of Fiction, I Am What I Am (originally Sobakasu in Japanese), BL Metamorphosis and Twenty-Four Eyes.

I enjoyed all of them for different reasons. I Am What I Am was a pleasant surprise, and it was interesting to get to see an old film like Twenty-Four Eyes.

Last Action Hero. A lighthearted Schwarzenegger action-adventure with the fun concept that somebody from the real world enters the world of a ridiculous action movie.

Watched "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F", last night... starring Eddie Murphy and the action is wild, from the various chases (which I won't go into ) and it was funny... definitely a continuation of madcap police actions from the previous B H Cops movies.

I saw "Hilda", about a mistreated school girl, who develops a defensive weapon with her mind...After starting the movie, I realized that I had already seen it years ago, but I watched it again anyway!
