I am what is termed 'morbidly obese'.
My BMI is 46.2

I know, that is a number higher than most of you are old... lol

unfortunately, because of the meds I am taking, I am told to not diet aggressively because some of the most healthful foods, (greens, etc) adversely affect some of the meds. I really do not eat as much as you might think. The weight crept up on me over the years until I suddenly realized, "oh crap!". For decades, I was stable at abt 225 lbs, but I could still touch my toes and run fast enough to catch my pre-teen sons in a chase. Then I went in for a check-up and my weight was 250. I have been higher than 310lbs at one point, but I'm lower now...

@husky: If greens are countering your meds, then I like to know how legit those meds are in the first place. Like, seriously.

@san: I heard on the radio about how a certain liver ailment can cause someone to not gain weight no matter what. Is that what your condition is?

I was diagnosed with the Failure to Thrive. I haven't really read up on it, though.

come to think of it you have not taken part in any of the topics. but gave two subjects


i have many many friends. some of them are close. got no best friend/s sort of thing. and i tend to forget people's name if i do not interact with them. this caused embarrassing moment many times.

I have a large number of friends that I enjoy spending time with.

I take a blood-thinner called Warfarin that Vitamin K reduces the effectiveness of this med. Unfortunately, Vitamin K is in a lot of greens... I eat some, but I have to maintain a balance...

@San
hahaha, the last time I heard that term was when my youngest son was newborn. After a month at home he had only gained 5 ounces and was diagnosed as a Failure to Thrive baby. He was nursing properly just not getting enough of mamma's milk. There was an organization called "The Leche League" and they set us up with a little bottle of formula with a tube so that as he nursed on mamma he also nursed on the tube. He was then gaining weight properly. He is now 6'1".

A lot of my friends these days I have met over the internet and recently when a certain subject that held a few of us together was over we lost contact. I had only that particular forum by which to stay in touch and it brought home to me the peculiar subject of internet friendships.
