Howl's Moving Castle isn't bad, but really overrated in my opinion. I don't like it as much as most of the others, so I tend to downvote it since it's getting more votes than I think it deserves.

I'm wondering if its fair to have Princess Kaguya in here. I suspect almost none of us have seen it. I feel guilty about downvoting something I've not seen and it may gain an undeservedly high rating if that applies to other voters.

I suspect its all down to personal taste rather than people voting for artistically and technically superior works. I know my votes are completely subjective. Nausicaa is a superb piece of art but it doesn't really grab me half as strongly as many of Ghibli's 'lesser' works.

I understand your point Saddles. I've downvoted Ocean Waves a few times because I know it's one of the less-seen Ghiblis, and I'd rather not let it score very highly when a lot of us don't even know it. I've seen Kaguya-hime, and I thought it was great, but since most haven't seen it, I won't be too upset if others choose to downvote it for similar reasons.

Going to be controversial here perhaps and argue my belief that Ponyo is way cuter than MNT! I'm sorry Totoro, I love you dearly as well, but Ponyo and Sosuke are adorable. Plus I'd actually rate Ponyo as being in the top 5 in terms of animation as well, it's so colourful and creative, I never get bored of looking at it.
