Dude, that's awesome! What did you win? Where was the contest? I'd love to do cosplay...I guess that makes me a geek, but I don't care!! Did you make your costume yourself? The contest was at an Ottakars bookshop - they've been holding a lot of mini-conventions recently.

I won a few manga books from the Les Bijoux series and a Tokyopop hat, which I wear with great pride! I also got a certificate which is up on my wall

I'll try and find a decent picture of the costume - basically it was a white top and skirt with a big red cape (which my grandmother helped me to make) and of course, a staff! I made the staff myself out of a walking stick and an old cereal packet I also did my hair all purdy... I'll try and find a decent picture.

Loving those pictures you just posted So cute!

Not seen this old thread before. I agree with THUG that the eyes in these faces are what makes the personality. When I first started watching anime I didn't like the big eyes, they just looked wierd, but as time's gone on I've just got used to it. However some of the huge huge eyes don't work for me and I find the eye needs a pupil in it to really work - some of the pics posted here just have a coloured iris with no pupil and the personality just goes out of the image totally for me when they are drawn like that.

Also from a man's perspective there a fair bit of sexyness in some of these pics - esp #1 and #3 above. I also see quite a lot of these cute girls wear thigh socks or stockings and I just find that a bit odd too, esp if the artist is depicting kids around 13 or younger. Its this slightly paedophilic thing about some shojou manga/anime that bothers me.

Still, some nice pics - pls keep em coming.
